Christopher Wildman

I am a registered Music Therapist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa In my group and individual sessions I enhance body awareness, authentic self-expression and a greater sense of well-being through the client’s own preferred musical media.

I grew up in north London where I taught English and studied jazz piano. After immigrating to Cape Town I completed an Advanced Diploma at the UCT College of Music in 1987. I was head of a music therapy program devoted to children and trauma at Red Cross Children’s Hospital for 15 years. Since 2016 I have worked in geriatric health where my music and movement interventions have also proved effective with people living with dementia.

I have also worked as a music and movement coach with all age groups from 4 to 74.

My being registered means clients can claim from those medical aids that recognise the Arts Therapies.

Contact me if you would like to speak to someone who has benefited from my sessions.
